That's right..... more filming. Here's the latest scoop.
Last Saturday we got our Seattle shots. That entailed breakfast at Denny's, an apartment with a view, fish and fries, freezing at Alki, and footage review at Panera Bread. Sound like fun? Since I don't want you to feel too left out, I'll give you my sought after observation from every step of the way.
- Denny's...
2. An apartment with a view... Take a look.

Some friends of ours have a brother who has an apartment in Seattle, and we got to use it. The view was perfect! And the weather could not have been clearer. After we unloaded all our stuff from our car far, far away and hauled it up to the 6th floor in a shifty elevator, set renovation begun. We had to move all their furniture, take down their blinds, make coffee, clean the window, find an object to "obstruct" the view (this confused me at first but it made sense when I saw it through the camera. You'll see.), there is always more.... I'll spare you too much detail.

The camera dolly just fit between the fireplace and the wall for the shots we needed. That is Greg looking out the window sipping coffee, the flash back with Abby leaving and some other things along those lines. I took over Stephen's role as boom holder. Thank you Stephen for you long hours of sacrifice.... It only took about 5 minutes (that is really all I did) for me to feel your pain. We got some really good stuff. Put it all together and it's a real tear jerker... even I could not hold back.
3. Fish and fries... We finished with the apartment about 3:30 or so and were in need of food after missing lunch. A couple of us had been running on empty for a while since we didn't quite fuel up enough at breakfast for a lunch fast. Not a pretty picture. Always remember to bring snacks when filming, that is what I learned. Your crew will thank you.
We went down to the water front and stopped in a little fish place. There where lot's of people but Daniel managed to hunt down a table for us and we all squeezed in.

Here is Gary and his really big container of tarter sauce. Now that's a true look of contentment if I ever saw one.
4. Freezing at Alki...

Next we film right there.

Well we didn't get a whole lot here since the camera battery died. But I think we got enough and if not this location is easy to come back to.

In the car.... keeping warm.
5. Footage review at Panera Bread...
Well the day ended as good as it began if not better. Coffee and great footage from our days work. We took over a nook in the back and watched while we sipped. After the long day, the conversation was even more entertaining. But just about anything seemed funny at this point.
Well there you have it. From Denny's to Panera Bread. I hope you enjoyed my guided tour of Germane Productions in Seattle.

Good post, good post. I think this was one of our funnest shoots. We could spend alot more time on individual shots then we usually could to really get them right. And we were in a really cool apartment in Seattle. And then Alki... and Gary's just funny.
Good day, great post.
Can't believe that I missed out on "one of the funnest shoots" - what a let-down! The footage did look excellent, though, so my commendations to an excellent crew. I think that I will be able to make it this Saturday - we'll see.
Great Post! These shoots seem to be getting funner and funner as we all progress in our filmmaking ventures.
More posts!!! Need more posts!!!
I think you are the only one who could do a little description of last weekends events. We are all relying on you.
Patience brother of mine. It's only been two days.... you don't need to be here! Oh wait, wrong line. I mean you can rely on my timely report. I figured out the whole picasa thing today so I can post more pictures in less time.
My next post is coming soon... maybe tonight.
Picasa! I love the organization that name brings.
I too am awaiting you perspective of Saturday AND Sunday's events.
That does it... it must be tonight. More than one waiting blog reader is too much to bare.
Don't worry Daniel, Sunday will not be ignored.
I wouldn't have been enough to convince you to post? Your own brother!!!???
It's strictly a numbers thing, 2random commentors would override me.
I'm a little more than a random blogger.
Brian:
My apologies. To clarify... you convinced me (as always), Daniel added the extra incentive.
I'm surprised at you... belittling the GP Producer to the title of "random commentor"! Shocking, simply shocking.
Once this guy is in a "bad mood" Kaitlin, you just learn to take whatever comes your way. Mark can back me up on that.
Yo, KT! Thanks for posting all the pics and info. I don't recall telling any blonde jokes, however. Perhaps you have me mixed up with my evil twin, Barry.
